Claudia Sacher

Claudia is a volunteer lead artist for Art for the Brain.

Claudia is a visual artist working in the areas of drawing, sculpture, video and installation. Born in Oberhausen, Germany, she completed a diploma in graphic design at the University of Essen/former Folkwangschule in 1992. She was part of Kunsthaus Essen for two years, and 1999 moved to North- East England, she now lives in Hexham. She moves studios around the region, preferring to work in spaces with a history and has exhibited throughout Europe. Her most recent show was at VARC at Highgreen, Tarset, a collaboration with Karen Melvin and Grace Warde-Aldam, No. 3: Stories in a house retold. Using the bare plaster walls of an uninhabited house as a surface to work on Sacher’s charcoal and ink drawings of human/spirit forms fill the rooms.
